Our History
Modernicity Ballet Company was founded in 2009 and is the resident ballet company at Rhythm Elements Dance Studio.
Modernicity is an award-winning Pre-Professional Ballet Program to help dancers meet the challenges of a professional career in dance, or go on to pursue dance in college.
The company is made up of young dancers of all races and ethnicities, both males and females. Auditions are open to intermediate and advanced levels dancers and are held annually in the Spring.
Audition Levels & Ages
Level III, Ages: 9-12+
Level IV, Ages: 12-15+
Level V-VI, Ages: 14-18+
Since its formation, Modernicity has been steadily gaining a reputation for creating elegant combinations of classical and contemporary dance that's boldly brought forward into the 21st century. Our goal is to make ballet accessible and relatable for young audiences.
The choreography is not only intricate and beautiful to watch, but exciting for dancers to perform and serves to elevate their training. Performances consist of a wide-ranging repertoire featuring the classic full-length ballets, and original works by forward-thinking choreographers who are transforming the world of dance.

● Company members are provided exciting opportunities to perform in a variety of productions. Some shows pay a stipend for designated roles.
Under the professional guidance of our artistic staff, dancers receive expert training in Classical Ballet that builds a solid dance foundation, and expand their training in Contemporary dance, and Classical Jazz.
Modernicity's director was commissioned to choreograph work for stage and film. Our Modernicity alums work on Broadway, off off Broadway, films, and other productions.

We are so excited to welcome dancers to our Modernicity Ballet Company Auditions. Get ready to dance! Bring your smile, mental focus, positive energy, and put your best self forward.
If your dancer is interested in auditioning to join Modernicity Ballet Company, you must register your child in advance. Please submit the Audition Request Contact Form on the left. Please provide:
Parent/legal guardian email address.
Name and age of dancer in the message box.
A detailed message. Include your phone number in the message.
The audition process will involve the dancers performing a variety of dance styles in Classical Ballet, Pointe (if experienced in Pointe work), Classical Jazz and Contemporary taught by our instructors. Auditionees will be judged by a panel of our Rhythm Elements directors and knowledgeable guest judges.
Due to the Omicron Variant, we are taking all necessary precautions to limit the amount of dancers in the audition room in order to practice social distancing procedures. Likewise, other measures will be taken to keep dancers as safe as possible.
