FACULTY & STAFF

Meet our outstanding faculty that makes Rhythm Elements Dance Studio one of a kind.  Our experienced front desk staff is here to help make your experience a memorable one!


Our instructors have set a standard of excellence for every student to follow.  They are talented, professionally trained dancers and choreographers who place emphasis on correct technique, dance terminology, foundation, creativity, cutting-edge choreography, musicality and being a showstopper performer.  They bring an abundance of dance experience to the classroom along with positive attitudes.  Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced and Pre-Professional levels taught.  The Rhythm Elements Dance Studio staff is dedicated to developing talent at both the recreational and professional level.  Students in our program can go on to become professional, employable dancers and actors with the excellent training, grooming and exposure they receive.

Jason Croom - Owner/Director

Hip-Hop & Theatre Dance, Salsa, Merengue, Choreographer, Dance Coach, Actor

TRAINING: Brooklyn Dance Academy, FAME Dance Academy, VDA Performing Arts School, ACT Conservatory of Drama & Theatre; Hip-Hop Dance – Mr. Wiggles, Popin Pete, Marty Kudelka, Napoleon & Tabitha, Tony Tran, Jun Quemada and other renowned instructors.

CREDITS: MTV Made Coach, MTV America’s Best Dance Crew Season 5, 15th Annual International Cultural Festival, Step UP 3D, Stomp the Yard, Pulse On Tour, The Travel Channel, Conyers and Atlanta Arts Festivals, Theatre, Commercials and more.   He wants to inspire students to always reach high and strive to do their best.

Classes taught: Hip-Hop, Pop & Lock, Specializes in Flash Mob Dances for Businesses, Ballroom/Wedding Dances, Private Dance Lessons. 

Cornelia Virella - Artistic Director

Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Modern, Lyrical, Contemporary, Hip-Hop, West African, Choreographer, Ballroom, Actress, Theatre Director

TRAINING: David Howard, Alvin Ailey, Frank Hatchett, Mia Michaels, Broadway Dance Center, Steps On Broadway, Dave Scott, Chuck Maldonado and others.

CREDITS: Modernicity Dance Theatre, Lithonia Contempra Ballet Company, Bahiyah African Dance Company, roles in film, television, theatre, and commissioned to choreograph dances for movies and stage plays, award-winning writer.  She is excited to help students perform at their full potential in the classroom and on the stage.

Classes taught: Classical Ballet, Pre-Pointe, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Tap, West African, Ballroom/Wedding Dances, Acting/Musical Theatre, Private Dance Lessons.  

Jamilyn Jones - Instructor

Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Tap, Choreographer, Actress

TRAINING: A Time To Dance, Mainstream Dance, Covington Regional Ballet

CREDITS: Roles in the Covington Regional Ballet’s performance of The Nutcracker 2005- 2013, lead role as the Evil Queen in the Covington Regional Ballet’s production of Snow White 2013, roles in theater and a variety of live performances.

She loves to share her knowledge and passion with each student she has the pleasure to work with. 

Classes taught: Classical Ballet, Pre-Pointe, Pointe, Contemporary and Jazz.

Jeremy Hunter - Instructor

Hip-Hop, Freestyle, Popping, Locking, Choreographer

TRAINING: Gotta Dance Atlanta, The Swagger Crew, Hip-Hop & Technique Dance – Popin' Pete, Bopping Andre, Jason Croom, Ian Eastwood, Daryl L. Foster, Allyne Gartrell, CiCi Kelly, Rikky McKinney, Monica Noble, Quincy Lamar, Cherrise Wakeham and other acclaimed choreographers and instructors.

CREDITS: D*NOW, Pulse On Tour, Chris Scholar, Jacquees, Madisyn Elise, Emcee N.I.C.E., music videos, stage performances and television appearances.

He loves inspiring students and encouraging them to dream big. 

Classes taught: Hip-Hop and Stepping.

Susan Spampinato - Front Desk Staff

Susan Spampinato is a vital member of our front desk staff and has been with us for three years.   She has a dance and theatre background and secretarial experience.    Miss Susan works tirelessly to keep our front desk working smoothly and ensuring that our students, families and visitors feel right at home at Rhythm Elements.   If you have a question about your tuition, classroom attire/dress code, schedules, performances or general studio happenings, she will gladly assist you.  Stop by the front desk and say hello to Susan.
